THE ENGLISH LIBRARY is always happy to welcome new volunteers to its ranks. So if you have a few hours to spare each week and you would like to join our happy band please drop into Library and leave your name and contact details.
There is a wide variety of tasks to carry out each, none of them onerous, and you would working alongside like-minded people keen to keep mind and body active.
The library is always addind to its already considerable stock of DVDs, including films and television series.
Among the new titles available this month are the movies Denial, starring Rachael Weisz, Hackshaw Ridge, the true story of a remarkable and unprecedented act of heroism by a pacifist during World War Two, Born to Kill, a psychological spine chiller, and Empire, a new American family drama.
From television, we have some new ‘old favorites’, with series four of the excellent police drama, Line of Duty, and series two of Unforgotten.
These are just a taster of things to come during the autumn, so look out for more detailed information in future articles.

Visitors are always welcome to join us during opening hours. Refreshments are served on Wednesday and Saturday mornings in the garden, a very pleasant spot in which to meet and chat with friends.
