Meet the Adventurers who set out to conquer Teide

20th July 2019 by Ken

KEN FISHER, Library President and leader of the popular Tenerife History Group has produced a series of articles on some of the extraordinary 19th century figures who set out to scale the heights of Mount Teide when the island’s upper reaches were still wild and untamed.

Don’t miss out on ‘Allo ‘Allo themed Murder Mystery lunch

3rd June 2019 by The Librarian

THERE ARE only a few places left for our Murder Mystery lunch entitled A Knockwurst Too Far, to be held at the Petit Los Angeles restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz on Thursday, June 30.

In addition to the entertainment, there will be a three-course meal with wine at €17 per person. If you wish to attend, please leave your name at the Treasurer’s Desk.

A reminder also that our popular History Group is taking a short summer break until Thursday, June 27, when normal service will be resumed at 11am.

The Library continues to welcome visitors to join us during opening hours – Monday and Friday 3pm to 5.30pm and Wednesday and Saturday 10pm to 1pm. Refreshments are served in the garden on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.

Anyone new to the area will find the Library, its volunteer staff and its members a friendly and welcoming group. In addition to its primary function as a traditional British library, it also acts as an important focal point for the British community living in and around Puerto de la Cruz.

We also have a programme of lively and popular social activities running throughout the year. Anyone contemplating retiring to Tenerife will find the Library, its resources, staff and members a great source of information because most of us have done the same thing ourselves.
