THE LIBRARY’S READING ROOM, the main room where the big table is, has a new, fresh look following the completion of its summer makeover, the main feature of which was to provide a new floor and book shelves.
It was a mammoth undertaking, with all the old floorboards having to be ripped up, the shelves emptied and rebuilt and then, once the woodwork was completeded, everything put back in place.
Our grateful thanks go to all these who helped with the heavy lifting.
Everything is now back in place and we would also like to extend our thanks to all members for your patience during this time.
In the meantime, if you have any ‘old-style quality classics’ to donate, which would fit in with the room’s new look, we would be very pleased to receive them.
